The Africa Women's Cup in Nairobi, Kenya, is held in cooperation with the Homeless World Cup and the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Foundation, a part of the main governing body in world soccer. Vijana Amani Pamoja (VAP) is a local organization in Nairobi whom is hosting this event which will take place on June 28-29, 2025.
The Africa Women's Cup is part of a larger on going two year project (2024-2025) being implemented in four African nations: Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. It uses the power of football to identify vulnerable women, engage them in safe football activities, and guide and support them to safe and productive alternatives to exploitation. The focus of this initiative includes:
- Offering Safe Spaces: Provides the pitch as a safe environment that links women to shelters where needed.
- Delivering Training: Includes coaching, safeguarding messages, improving women’s empowerment, and vocational training.
- Hosting or Attending Tournaments: Promoting partners’ best practices and positive player stories.
- Delivering mental health services through the power and popularity of the game of football.
Our goal is to raise a total of $447 to cover the following costs to co-sponsor this event:
- $387 in sponsorship fees
- $60 to cover international money transfer fees
